2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes
\n2 tablespoons canola oil
\n8 medium carrots, cut into 1-inch slices
\n6 large potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes

\n1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
\n1 envelope onion soup mix<\/p>\n
In a large skillet, brown meat in oil; drain. Transfer to a 5-qt.
\nslow cooker. Top with vegetables. Combine the water, tomato sauce
\nand soup mix; pour over top. Cover and cook on low for 4-1\/2 to 5
\nhours or until meat and vegetables are tender.<\/p>\n
